Drained

This week brought more illness, and honestly I am totally drained. I didn't manage to take any pictures. So I found one from the archives to edit and share.

Spring.. it is here

It is almost here. Spring. The days are getting longer and it is slowly getting warmer. And.. more flowers!

I managed to get in the garden to take a couple pictures this weekend. Still not a lot, but soon I think!

I am excited about these. These I planted myself. I had some hyacinth bulbs, however due to lack of time I didn't get them into the ground until late Feb. But there are still coming up.

I am more than excited to find out what color these are. If they flower. I sure hope they do! There is actually quite a few.

There are only a few of these in the garden. I think there are so pretty. This image I processed with one of Kims textures called luminious.

Back

It will have been a year in May since I posted on this blog. The one I started, but never really got started.

Well, I am back, and much as changed in my world of flowers. This past fall we bought a house, which means I have my very own garden that is truely mine. I can do whatever I want with it. And I am so looking forward to it!

I have been planning things in my head all winter, however this year we probably won't do too much. We need to see what is in the garden first. Exciting!

This means I hope to take lots of flower and garden pictures, so I am back. Back to sharing images here.

Here spring is finally getting started, and flowers are getting their starts. I took these a couple of weeks ago. I hope to get back out in the yard this weekend and take some more.

Raining Tulips

It has been over a week since I was out in the garden with my camera. We had rain overnight leaving all my tulips covered in rain drops. I figured it was a good opportunity to get out and take a few pictures. This purple tulip however stole the show.

My favorite right now...

Right now I have some flowers that are my total favorite in the garden right now. They were left over from the previous owner. Last year they were pretty bare looking and had little flowers on them, but I gave them a chance because the blooms were so pretty. And wow! I am so glad I did. These are the fullest plants in my garden right now. The color is so bold. I love it.

There is just one problem... I haven no idea what they are called! Anyone know?

Texture Tuesday

Each week Kim Klassen holds a weekly link-up called Texture Tuesday. It has long been one of my favorite link ups. Not only does she share beautiful images she created amazing textures to use on photos.

This weeks theme is Simple. Honestly a lot of the times I have a hard time with themes. But there is something simple about flowers.

Here are some pictures from the garden with this texture applied.

Raising Daisies

Over the Easter weekend we had beautiful weather and a lot of time to spend in the garden. I feel so lucky to have a garden with so many flowers I can photograph. I love flower photography, so I decided to start another blog (you can also find me over at Not So Ugly Ducklings).

This blog is going to be devoted to just my flower photography of the flowers in my garden. This is really the first where I have complete control of the garden and you know what? I am kind of enjoying planning, moving things around and adding new flowers. I can't wait to show you more.

Here are some pictures that I took today.
